Through the measurement of a household metering heating system in Beijing, gains dynamic data of room temperature under various operating conditions of radiator manual control valves. Based on the reference room, gives the concept of energy consumption percentage and heat transfer percentage between adjacent rooms and analyses the energy saving effect of radiator manual adjustment. The testing and analysing results indicate that the energy saving ratio can reach up to about 20% under the condition of valves closed for a long time and reach up to about 6% by adjusting valves intermittently according to living schedules, and that installing radiator thermostatic valves in the system heated adequately can obtain good energy saving effects by using the free heat such as the solar radiation.
